Dear friends, I hope you are doing well and staying safe during these uncertain times.. I am doing fine, keeping busy beading, and working on my online shops. Awhile back, I had a request for some beaded clip-on West Highland White Terrier earrings. My customer was so pleased with them that I decided to list this option in my Etsy shop.

It made me wonder, how many of you still wear clip-on earrings? I do think they have their purpose and they are so much fun! I get it, sometimes you just don’t want a large heavy earring pulling down on your earlobe all day. The clip-on helps a larger earring stay positioned correctly on your ear. And of course, there are some who have never had their ears pierced to begin with.. If you wear clip-ons, please comment and let me know! I would be happy to create any of my beaded dog earrings as clip-ons for you.

Since we are approaching Memorial Day, I decided it was time to run a quick sale in my Etsy shop. All ready to ship beading patterns, beaded dog jewelry, and bead kits will be 15% off now through Tuesday, May 26. I have also listed some Ultrasuede pieces in primary colors, so this would be a perfect time to stock up!

And during this time of self-quarantine, I have been working on my Zazzle shop a bit. I am happy to report that Great Blue Heron iPhone cases are back in stock! I have also added fun new t-shirts, tote bags, and a jigsaw puzzle! I hope you will stop by and take a peek! More items coming soon! That’s the news for now. Back to beading!

Dear friends, these past few months have been really tough, and the past couple of weeks, even tougher.. I feel like we are all living through a historical moment.. I just hope and pray that things will change course in November! Until then, we must all do what we can to survive and stay healthy. Perhaps most importantly, we must appreciate this time of pause and self reflection. Spend time with family, enjoy the outdoors, exercise, eat more veggies, read more, and create!

I have been busy creating and beading, and I have also made a number of changes in the Lone Beader world! During the past week or so, I have opened up a shop on Gumroad! I have listed all of my bead embroidery patterns there. You can now shop directly from my Beading Patterns page found in the Main Menu.

For those who are unfamiliar with Gumroad, I believe it is a very simple e-commerce site where creators can sell virtually anything they create, mostly digital items (i.e. DIY craft projects, instructions, music, videos, and more), but I think some physical products are sold there as well. I have listed my patterns at a very low price, but there is the option to allow customers to pay what they want! For example, I have listed my Intro to Extreme Bead Embroidery tutorial there with a minimum price of $0 (FREE!), but you can add a dollar or more if you are feeling generous. And, since I had the option to add multiple files to each listing, I have included this Intro tutorial with the purchase of every other pattern (for FREE) in case someone is just learning how to bead. Customers also don’t need a Gumroad account, or any of that nonsense – you can just pay for what you want and download. And if you want to stay updated on what I am creating, simply enter your email address on my Follow page.

I have also listed all patterns that I have had translated into Spanish language. And I put a big red stamp on them, to avoid any accidental purchases of the wrong version (it happens!). You can shop directly from my Tutoriales en español page. I plan to have the rest of my patterns translated as well, but these things cost money & take time.. However I am working on it!

It is important to note that in order for your products to be found in Gumroad’s ‘Discover’ search engine, creators must have followers, sales, and products must have customer reviews. So, its all up to creators to promote their items with their audience or fan base, and encourage sharing! A bit of a challenge, but I am up for it.. Overall, Gumroad seems like a better place for my beading patterns than Amazon. Please join me and help me spread the word! I appreciate your interest in my beadwork and stay safe!
